What a virtual office is and whether it is legal in Serbia
The Companies Act requires a company to have a sedište — an address on the territory of Serbia from which it is managed. It is entered in the APR register and printed on invoices and contracts. The law does not require the company to own the premises or rent a whole office: a contract granting the right to use the address and receive correspondence is enough.
A virtual office is exactly that kind of contract with an operator who holds the premises, receives the mail, puts up a nameplate and confirms the contract during a tax inspection. The service is legal and widely used by sole traders and small DOO companies; the risk arises only with addresses that have no real servicing, which the tax office treats as fictitious and for which it refuses the PIB or VAT registration.
